High Winds Knock 30-ton Crane Through Vallco Mall's Roof

Wow, those high winds that we had yesterday did some major damage at Vallco Fashion Mall in Cupertino. Apparently, the mall is going through a $200 million dollar renovation. I didn't realize that was already under way. I'm glad that they're revitalizing that place. I went there a lot as a kid.

Anyway, the Mercury News reports that a 30-ton crane used to move heavy steel toppled over in the high winds yesterday that reached almost 100mph up north in San Francisco. It crashed into the mall and broke through the roof of New Things West, sending everyone running outside, some of the people dressed in wedding gowns.
