Recommendations on Offset Printers?
Posted: Oct 2 2007, 08:26 AM
I typically use digital printers for all of my printing needs because they're a lot easier to work with, they're less expensive, and the quality is more than good enough for my needs and most of my clients. I'm running into some requests to get some things offset printed now, but I don't have any offset printers that I know well. Can anyone recommend a offset printing service?
BTW if you're not sure what offset printing is, it's "traditional" printing that requires you to do color separations of your artwork so they can image each piece and ink them on separately.

Sheldon:
I have a few I can refer you to.
Peter Martin at Signature Print Services - 408-213-3393
Steve at San Jose Blue - I will have to get his number from him when I see him tomorrow.
Lizette Garcia at Advertisers Mailing Service - 408-938-9000 (they do printing as well as mailing)
Hope all is well with you. Do you know if there is any interest in reviving the STNA? We still have over $900 in our checking account.

I've picked up things for my husband /his work at Blazer, they do
big digital but not offset.
Another his company uses is mPress, but they are in Santa Cruz.

Mustang Press is my suggestion.
They are nice, local and close, and my friend works there.
Crystal who designs my cards and such works at Mustang -- although she is working more from home now that she is a new mom!
They are on Winchester across from the McDonalds kind of near Hamilton.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the info. I'm going to run down to San Jose Blue and check them out. From what I'm seeing on their website, they look like a promising place.
I also ran down to Norman Paul Print Center yesterday. They appear to have the supply of papers and capabilities that I'm looking for, but the not so friendly saleswoman was a huge turn off.
Dana,
Where's Mustang Press. Do they have a website?
